KidSpace is an awesome interactive play area that enhances a child's self-concept and promotes positive self-image. KidSpace amenities, which can be found at the Athletic Club, Supreme Sports Club and the Columbia Gym are tailored to each facility; kid-sized arenas, a computer room, a rock wall, climbing ropes, state-of-the-art games and equipment. A variety of activities are offered daily that may include art, music, dramatic play, and various physical activities and games.
The KidSpace program is structured in a manner that facilitates opportunities for both individual and group participation, striking a balance between self-selected and staff-directed activities, with both quiet and active periods. Your kids’ place is KidSpace and they won’t want to leave. |

Common to every location:
Fun. KidSpace offers so many games, toys and activities that your child won’t want to leave.
Quality care. You can work out assured that your children are having a great time in a quality atmosphere. DEDICATED KidSpace attendants do not leave your children to “just hang out”. They lead your children in fun activities like art, reading, music, dramatic play, physical games.
Safety and security. There are family-friendly entrances where your children can be checked into secure and supervised KidSpace while you check into the club. Parents or guardians must show their photo ID and their children's photo ID when picking up their children.
Flexible space so that children can be grouped by age for fun activities.
Convenient hours. KidSpace is ready when you are. At the Supreme Sports Club, Columbia Gym and Columbia Athletic Club – Monday through Friday 9AM to 9PM; Saturday-Sunday 8:30AM to 4PM. At the Swim Center Monday through Friday 9AM to Noon.
Flexible Scheduling. NO RESERVATIONS are NECESSARY. (Reservations are recommended for children 6weeks to 14 months). Your children can enjoy KidSpace for up to two
consecutive hours per day every day…and they will WANT to. For specific KidSpace amenities to be found at each location click here. Schedule and activities are subject to change.
Policies & Procedures
- Although reservations are not required, reservations for our youngest members (children 6 weeks through 14 months) are recommended and can be made by calling the facility up to one week in advance.
- Families with KidSpace membership may utilize up to two-hours per day per family.
- Members who have KidSpace option may bring a guest to KidSpace. The guest fee is $8.00 or half of a guest pass per child.
- The drop in fee for non KidSpace members is $8.00 per child.
- Parents/guardians must escort children to the KidSpace area and sign-in them in on the appropriate form.
- Children will not be permitted to leave the KidSpace area until the parent/guardian or authorized pick-up returns to KidSpace and signs the child(ren) out on the appropriate form.
- KidSpace participants should wear sturdy shoes, no open-toed shoes, flip flops or sandals. Socks or other soft foot covering is acceptable for non-walkers.
- Outside toys, games and other personal belongings are not permitted in the KidSpace program areas. Special consideration may be made for children using the KidSpace areas to complete homework, or for any soft stuffed animal or other item that may ease the transition between the parent and KidSpace team members. The Columbia Association is not responsible for any personal items brought into the program area.
- With the exception of baby bottles and sippy cups with water child(ren) are not permitted to bring food or drinks to KidSpace.
- Baby bottles must be plastic, pre-made and labeled with child’s name. Bottles should be handed to the attendant when the child is signed-in. After bottles are fed to the infant, the remaining contents will be discarded and bottles rinsed and returned to the sign-in/sign-out desk. All unclaimed items will be discarded at the end of each day.
- Although we provide a diaper changing area for parents to use, KidSpace staff members are not permitted to change diapers. If a child needs a diaper changed you will be notified.
- Children who are ill or exhibit symptoms of an illness may not participate in KidSpace. After an illness children must be symptom free for at minimum of 24 hours prior to returning to KidSpace.
- KidSpace team members are trained in the use of positive behavior management techniques. Constructive methods of behavior management may include positive praise, redirection, and separation from the situation if a child is continually disruptive. In cases where a behavior is of an aggressive or harmful nature, the parent/guardian will be paged using the facility intercom system and may be required to remove the child(ren) from the KidSpace area. In cases of excessively harmful, aggressive or inappropriate behavior, a child may be suspended from the program for up to five days. Inappropriate behavior which continues despite repeated interventions by parents and KidSpace team members, may result in permanent removal from KidSpace programs. No credits or adjustments for unused time will be given.
- Parents/guardians MUST remain in the facility while children(ren) participate in KidSpace. _____________

- Parents/guardians are required to show a picture ID when picking up their child(ren) from KidSpace. Please note: Guest and drop in participants will only be released to the adult who signed the child in. ___________

- Parents/guardians are expected to pick-up their child(ren) from KidSpace within the two-hour participation time. In the event a parent is delayed, a Late Pick-Up Fee of $5 will be incurred for the first five minutes and $5 for every additional five minutes, or portion thereof. Late fees must be paid immediately. _____________
