Columbia has access to a wide variety of public transportation means, including a local intracounty bus system, commuter busses to DC and Baltimore and MARC commuter trains linking Baltimore and Washington.

Local bus service is provided by Howard Transit Service. Bus routes connect most of Columbia’s village centers to the Columbia Mall, Howard County General Hospital, Howard Community College, the libraries and Ellicott City. For complete bus schedule information call, toll free, (800) 270-9553.
