Positions Available

Recreation Assistant

Teen Center
Part-time
Under direct supervision of the Teen Center Manager, the Recreation Assistant will assist in developing, planning, coordinating, and conducting educational, social and recreational programs for youth and teens in grades 4 - 12. Other responsibilities include developing and applying safety rules; providing resources to participants and parents; registration of participants; administering program surveys and evaluations; assisting with the monthly calendar or newsletter; maintain inventory of recreation equipment; and coordinating and distributing publicity for the programs. A combination of experience and education equal to a college degree in recreation, behavioral sciences or education is required; two years experience must be in planning or programming activities for youths in grades 4 through 12. This position is grant-funded for July 1 to June 30, and must be re-funded each year.

Payroll Assistant

Administrative Services
Full-time
Proficiency in Word/Excel, data entry and attention to detail required. Associate’s Degree in business and three years of experience working in an accounting department preferred. Duties include: reviewing and processing new hire paperwork, entering timesheets and commissions for bi-weekly payroll, recalculating commissions, calculating retro pay, distributing payroll reports, and maintaining personnel files. SALES REPRESENTATIVE - PART TIME

Communications and Marketing Division

Membership Service Center is looking for part time sales reps. Must have good communication skills. Hourly starts at $6.15 plus commission. Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays. Landscape Crew

Open Space Management

Seasonal (up to 9 months)

Assist with maintaining annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. Typical activities include planting, weeding, pruning and watering. No mowing. Experience with landscape plants preferred but not required. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years old & have a valid driver’s license. Assists with the maintenance of Open Space areas throughout Columbia. Position consists of outdoor manual labor including lifting, bending, walking, trash removal, operation of small power and hand equipment. Prior landscaping experience is a plus, but not required. The Columbia Association is hiring certified Lifeguards for the Columbia Gym, Supreme Sports Club and the Swim Center. All shifts are available from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
