Make a difference, get involved, be an integral part of the solution all while having fun and making new friends! These two committees get young people involved in their community by planning, organizing and implementing positive programs and activities for their peers. The commitment is to attend their meetings at CA Headquarters and help out with the various events. They are great groups, and we are always looking for more members.

Teen Advisory Committee
Ages 13-19
Meets on the following Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at CA headquarters - October 6, November 3, November 24 and December 15;.and for events.

Middle School Advisory Committee
Ages 11-13
Meets on the following Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at CA headquarters - October 19, November 2, November 23 and December 14; and for events.

In addition to planning fun activities, the teens often incorporate raising funds and awareness for charities into their events. They held a Valentine's Day Dance with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross, a charity walk for Unicef benefiting children in Darfur, and have sports tournaments to benefit local charities. Past events include coffeehouses, Battle of the Dance, and Teen Idol. The committee is always looking for new ideas and gladly welcomes new suggestions.

Upcoming Events

The committee members participate because they feel they are serving the teen and preteen communities by implementing activities and programs that are planned and run by their peers. In the process they gain friends, self confidence and leadership experience.
