Positions Available

Community Planner
President's Office

Full-Time
The Columbia Association, one of the nation's largest homeowner's associations serving approximately 100,000 residents, is searching for a Community Planner. This newly created position will report directly to the president with overall responsibility for performing and managing complex and sensitive professional planning projects, research and analysis, while monitoring to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws. This person will also advise the CA President, Board of Directors and the various elected Village Boards on all planning-related matters. Must have a thorough knowledge of urban planning and development and working with local government policies and procedures. Candidates should possess a master's degree in planning or a closely related field, and at least five years of experience in the planning profession. AICP certification preferred. Associate Director - The First Tee of Howard County

The Associate Director will assist the Executive Director in the total operation of The First Tee of Howard County. The focus of the Associate Director will be on marketing the program, maintaining the web site and fundraising. The Associate Director will make presentations to corporations, parents and students. Experience maintaining a web site is critical; customer service, working with youth and golf skills are beneficial. Assistant Mechanic

The Assistant Mechanic is responsible for the following: preventative maintenance and repairs on all golf course equipment; routine course maintenance; record keeping and purchasing. Position is a full-time benefited position. Starting salary is $12/hour based on experience. Mechanic experience a plus, but will be willing to train. Member Assistant

Columbia Gym in Clarksville, MD is seeking applications to fill the position of Member Assistant (hours needed are Monday, Wednesday, Friday evening & Saturday afternoon.) This is a year-round part-time position. The person desired for this position is mature with a friendly customer service attitude, energy, enthusiasm, a working knowledge of fitness equipment. This person also requires little supervision. Strong communication skills and a minor amount of physical labor are required. Starting salary is $10/hour. Front Desk Sales Representative

CA's Membership Service Center is looking for a part-time Sales Representative. The applicant must have experience with computers, experience in building customer relationships, and good verbal and writing skills. Some sales experience is a plus but not necessary. You must be available to work evenings, weekends and some holidays. College is a plus but not necessary. The part-time Sales Representative will be trained to be knowledgeable of the mission of the Columbia Association and selling memberships and services to members and guests. During peak seasons, the Membership Service Center gets hectic with incoming calls and customers, the applicant must be able to think on his or her feet and give excellent customer service to members and guests at all times. The starting salary is $7.25/hour plus commissions. Recreation Assistant

The Recreation Assistant is responsible for assisting in the researching, developing, implementing, planning, coordinating and conducting of educational, social, and recreational programs as outlined in the Drop-In Open Recreation and Enrichment Program grant for youth and teens grades 4-12.
