Inclement Weather Cancellations (Updated Monday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.)
Columbia Athletic Club, Columbia Gym, Columbia Swim Center and Supreme Sports Club have reopened. Currently, these facilities are open for their normal hours of operation; however, if weather or travel detiorates, a decision to close the facilities may be made.
CA's Membership Service Center is closed today and will make a decision tomorrow morning regarding Tuesday's schedule.
The Inclement Weather Policy is in effect until at least 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, which means all classes, programs, and activities scheduled before 11 a.m. tomorrow are cancelled. We anticipate KidSpace being open 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. today and tomorrow with limited availability. Parents with children younger than 2 years old should call first to make reservations. Swimming Lessons scheduled for this evening at Columbia Gym have been cancelled.
Please note that we have lost parking spaces at each of the facilities due to snow removal. Also, the County is encouraging residents to stay off the roads.
A liberal leave policy is in effect for all CA headquarters personnel Monday, Feb. 8 and Tuesday, Feb. 9.
Please continue to check our Inclement Weather Hotline at 410-715-3154.
CA loans snow removal equipment to Howard County to assist in getting Columbia streets open
CA has assigned snow removal eqiupment to the County to help emergency personnel and vehicles gain access to all areas of the community. The decision to assist the County will mean that CA-owned pathways will be cleared after the County releases our equipment. We apologize for the inconvenience but we believe that getting the community moving and helping County emergency personnel to get acess to all areas in the community took precedence over clearing the pathways.

Tips For You
Green Tip for a Greener Workplace
Did you know the EPA ranks indoor pollution as 1 of the top 5 environmental public health risks today? Indoor plants are natural air filters. Including them in your office can absorb airborne pollutants and research has found that indoor plants can reduce cold-related illnesses by up to 30%.

Watershed Tip
Avoid applying harsh chemicals to mitigate ice. Many de-icers contain harsh chemicals that remain as residue and are carried into the storm drains as ice melts. Only use de-icers that have eco-friendly labeling. For more quick tips, please visit
